Case study: C&M Dredging

From local contractor to regional industrial partner.

C&M Dredging’s work was already regional. Their brand wasn’t. We repositioned the company from the ground up, then built a website to prove it, so they could compete for the municipal, environmental, and industrial contracts they were ready to win.

Same company. A whole new league.

The same crews, the same fleet, the same Florida job sites. Here’s the difference a reposition makes.

Before
C&M Dredging's previous homepage, with a light layout, rounded photo, and a consumer-style badge
Real job-site photos, wrapped in a soft, friendly look that read like a small local business.
After
C&M Dredging's new homepage, with a bold industrial headline over a dredge working at an industrial site
Bold, industrial, and unmistakable: a company built to operate at scale.

The ceiling

The work was regional. The brand wasn’t.

Since 2011, C&M Dredging has been moving sediment, restoring waterways, and closing out environmental sites across Florida. By the time we met them, they were ready to compete for municipal, environmental, and heavy industrial contracts.

Their website and marketing still said “local family business”: friendly team photos, family-owned messaging, and a simple list of services. Exactly right for where they started. Not for where they were headed.

The people who award big contracts ask one question: can this company operate at our scale, safely and by the book? The old brand never answered it.
The thesis

Stop looking local. Start proving scale.

We didn’t start with a redesign. We started by repositioning the company, then built everything else to prove it. That meant retiring the small-shop cues and replacing them with the signals industrial buyers actually look for.

  • Real operations Field, fleet, and job-site imagery instead of posed team photos.
  • Their industries, first Power, pulp and paper, mining, municipal. Buyers see their own world right away.
  • Credentials up front Compliance and safety, right where procurement goes looking.
  • Projects with numbers Real scope and outcomes that move an RFP onto the shortlist.

The shift

Three changes that changed everything.

Same company, same crews. Here’s what we changed in how they show up, and why each change matters to the people who award the work.

1  /  The imagery

From group photo to fleet in action

A team photo at the sign says “nice people.” Dredges, surveyors, and dewatering systems at work say “we can handle your project.”

Before Old site: C&M team posed in front of the company sign
After New site: Core Capabilities grid showing dredges, surveying, and dewatering at work

2  /  The message

From promises to proof

“Innovative solutions” could describe any company. 600,000 cubic yards removed with zero environmental incidents describes only one.

Before Old site: a general mission statement about innovative solutions
After New site: Closure Project with 600,000 cubic yards removed and zero environmental incidents

3  /  The proof

From values to credentials

Culture matters to the people who work there. ISNetworld, Avetta, OSHA, and MSHA credentials matter to the people who sign the contracts, so now they lead.

Before Old site: long paragraphs about company values
After New site: Safety is our foundation, with ISNetworld, Avetta, OSHA, MSHA, and insurance credentials

The new site

Built around the buyer.

Every page on the new site answers a question a procurement officer or environmental manager is already asking. Here’s a quick tour.

Industries We Serve

Buyers find their world in seconds

Pulp and paper, power generation, mining, municipal waterways. A plant manager sees their own industry before reading a single sentence, and knows C&M has been there.

Featured Projects

Every project leads with a number

1.2 million cubic yards dredged. Eight-plus years of ongoing partnership. Zero environmental releases. Proof a buyer can drop straight into a bid evaluation.

New C&M site: Depth in Every Class fleet page with dredge photos and specifications

The Fleet

The equipment, spec by spec

Multiple dredges in every class, with suction sizes and dredging depths listed for each. An engineer can check the fit for their project before ever picking up the phone.

Our Proven Process

A clear path, then a clear next step

Evaluate, plan, execute, deliver. Buyers see exactly how a project runs, then get one obvious action: submit project details.
